Tournaments for young players 6

Young players around Lisbon have several tournament series to choose from. The district association runs school tournaments and introductory opens for first-timers, and its district championships in classical, semi-rapid and rapid chess take young players alongside adults. The city council's Joga Lisboa programme has held chess tournaments with the association too.

In Loures, a school in Bobadela has hosted a Saturday tournament for school-age players, free to enter with registration by email. Rapid series welcome children as well: one played in burger restaurants across the region, and an evening tournament for members of a mutual association, children included, and their companions. Check the age rules, the registration deadline and the time control before entering.
