Rapid tournaments in and around Lisbon 18

Rapid and semi-rapid play fill much of the tournament calendar around Lisbon. The district association runs championships in both, and touring series take the game to unusual halls: museum days in Lisbon, Oeiras, Cascais, Amadora and Sintra, tournaments in FNAC bookshops, youth events in burger restaurants, an evening in a restaurant in Bucelas, and summer-morning opens in parks.

Clubs and local bodies run series of their own: the residents' association in Telheiras, the Sporting supporters' club in Alcântara, the parish of Ajuda for schools, the Técnico students' association, an inter-bank tournament and the federation's champions circuit. South of the river, Seixal has its council circuit and the Seixaliada, Almada a circuit run by a Caparica club, and Montijo an open for the São Pedro festivities. A Friday-night rapid in a cafeteria on Rua Castilho is open to members of a mutual association and their companions.
