Chess clubs in Seixal, south of the Tagus 4

Seixal, on the south bank of the Tagus estuary, keeps chess sections in several of its sports clubs, all members of the Setúbal district association. Independente FC Torrense in Arrentela runs tournaments at its own premises, among them a rated semi-rapid event, and GD Cavadas has organised a rapid tournament for individuals and teams, open to federated and non-federated players with free registration, as well as an international tournament.

CRD Cavaquinhas in Torre da Marinha and the Núcleo SCP Seixal, the local Sporting supporters' club, complete the list. Between them these clubs host stages of the council's chess circuit and rounds of the Seixaliada, the municipality's annual sports festival. From Lisbon, allow for the river crossing and ask the host club for the date of the next event.
